Can anyone suggests some good but not sappy songs to be my future husbands and my song. We dont really have one and we willl need something for our first dance so lets hear some ideas
Help picking our song?
ive always been partial to the SportsCenter theme.
Reply:I got married 2.5 months ago. We picked all classic songs for our wedding. A lot of Sinatra, Martin, old R%26amp;B, etc. We are both in our early 20's.
Our "song" is Time to Kill by The Band. That's not really a wedding song (although it was in our play list) so we danced our first dance to Blue Skies by Louie Armstrong. It's a short song (about 2.5 minutes) and it is really easy to dance to (I can't dance). We did an American waltz to it. Her friend taught me how to waltz. I danced to Unforgettable with my mom and I forgot what she danced to with her dad. Butterfly Kisses is waaaayyyyy overdone. Don't dance to that!
Reply:Lots of Sinatra songs are good. They are romantic... but generally upbeat and good for weddings.
My husband and I chose "For Once in My Life".... we really liked the song and it got the party started. "The Best is Yet to Come" is good too. His songs tend to have a jazzy or Big Band feeling to them that is crowd-pleasing.
Another popular one that I almost chose, is "At Last" by Etta James. It is slower tempo and jazzy.... kind of sexy actually, but in a very tasteful way. We played it later in the evening as things were winding down.
For favors we made cd's with a bunch of the slower romantica songs from our reception. They were a big hit!
Reply:What a wonderful world by Louis Armstrong. It's short and sweet.
We choose that because I love the lyrics and it was short.
Reply:I'm having Endless Love by Diana Ross and Lionel Ritchie...
Big day 5th april 2008
Reply:India arie ready for love
Reply:Fly me to the moon - Frank Sinatra
This is one of my personal favorites. It's not sappy it's just a classic song perfect for any couple. Here is a link so you can listen to it.

Reply:I'm not sure if these are necessarily sappy, but the worst that could happen is that you don't like them. Here goes nothing:
"Nothing at All"- Alison Krauss
"Lost in this Moment"- Big %26amp; Rich
"This is the Night"- Clay Aiken
"Fall Into Me"- Emerson Drive
"Collide"- Howie Day
"Wherever You Are"- Jack Ingram
"I Need You"- Tim McGraw
"My Best Friend"- Tim McGraw
"Best of Intentions"- Travis Tritt
"Good Morning Beautiful"- Steve Holy
"Little Moments"-Brad Paisley
"Love Will Keep Us Alive"- Eagles
"These Are the Moments"- Edwin McCain
"I'll Be"- Edwin McCain
"Somebody Like You"-Keith Urban
"How Do I Live"-LeAnn Rimes
"I Hope You Dance"- Le Ann Womack
"You're Like Comin' Home"-Lonestar"
"Valentine"- Martina McBride
"Bless the Broken Road"- Rascal Flatts
"This Everyday Love"-Rascall Flatts
"Making Memories of Us"- Keith Urban
"You're My Better Half"- Keith Urban
Reply:Your song should be something that has meaning to the both of you.
Reply:"We've only just begun" By the Carpenters. That's the song my husband and I were married to instead of the traditional wedding march. In case you never heard it,(because these are older songs, but great ones) Its a wedding song but more upbeat. It goes,-We've only just begun, to live- White lace and promise,s- A kiss for luck and were on our way....For a first dance, How about, "Lets get it on" by Marvin Gay. A very intimate song if not down right sexy.
Reply:This is the one we chose...

Reply:We're thinking of doing "At Last" by Etta James.
We're struggling coming up with something to do, so I understand.
Reply:I've just recently started considering using a Michael Buble song for our first dance, he has all kinds to choose from...upbeat, slower, classic 'big band', or more contemporary sounding.
You can listen to samples of his songs on amazon:
