When I first started writing, this is how I did it. Maybe it will help you, too!





Well, the first step is to know what you're going to write about. When you figure out the main subject, then you need to make sort of an outline of the song...just write down things that you want to be in the song. Write down a couple of verses, they don't even have to rhyme; do free verse to begin with. After that, you'll have to decide to keep some lines in, take some out, rearrange a few of them, and so on. Something that's really helpful for the rhyming is poetry.com. They have this thing where you type in a word and it comes out with A TON of different words that you can choose from. And just work from there. It's really not as complicated as it sounds. =]





*A little word of advice: some people work better alone, while others are much more creative and let out a lot more of their talent working with others. The results depend on which type you and your friend are.*

Well, after you pick what you are going to write about, there are a few ways to start. You could try and think of a catchy chorus that could be used over and over again in the song, or think of an intro to start it out. And then all you ned are a few verses and your done!!!


If you really like an artists, you can try to use some of there style and rythym.


As long as you have a good chorus, the song should be really cool. If you want to add instuments like guitar, try to keep it pretty simple, since you can always change things later.

Reply:If you 2 are tryin to write a song learn from ur mistakes then see wat u like and dislike and put up a song together.





Before u start writing u should listen to your favourute band or singer and take ideas,i also believe in writing wat u fell and wat u are passing true that makes the song better.


For ex. If im sad and lonley try and write a song out of fear, sorrow, lonlyness and emotion.

Reply:Sure.... Alot more goes into writing music, Songs in your case then you would think. Every aspec is controlled. You should know about chords and the standard chords used in the music you want to write. It's not easy and it takes practice. You should also learn an instrument because music makes more sense that way.
