Is this an okay song for our first dance?

Is the song “Beauty and the Beast” good for the first dance? My BF has a little temper, not to bad, and he has gotten better and he’s really fuzzy. I love the song but a friend of mine said that it wasn’t a good on for the first dance. What are your thoughts.

I think you should just play the instrumental part. His family might be offended by the chose. If you have the instrumental part it will be a private thing only your husband, close relatives and friends will know about.
Reply:It's kind of odd, but if you both agree to it, why not? It's your wedding, not your best friend's. Tell her you respect her opinion but don't agree with it, and when it's her turn to get married then she can pick the first dance song.
Reply:It's YOUR wedding, YOUR reception and YOUR first dance. You do not need anyone's opinion other than you and your soon-to-be husband's. If that's what you both have agreed on then do it. Don't let others tell you what's good or bad for your wedding. It's YOUR day and if you want to have your first dance be to "Twinkle, twinkle little star" then so be it! I get so aggrivated when others try to inflict their opinions on to a bride. You do what you want. When your friend gets married she can play whatever song she wants for her first dance.
Reply:I personally wouldn't choose it. To me, it would seem like a put down of the groom. That's not how you mean it, but why risk a chance of making yourself seem bitchy? Pick a song that put you on equal ground, not one that appears to elevate you above him.

edit: Ok, I forgot that it actually says beast in the lyrics... but the song is really about both people learning and changing...so if you want to use it go ahead. Or use the instrumental version like another answerer suggested.
